Topic: Lost Wallet
Dialogue 1
Sophie: Oh no, I can’t believe it. My wallet has gone missing!
Jake: What? Did you lose your wallet?
Sophie: Yes, I had it this morning, and now… nothing.
Jake: Did you check all your bags and pockets?
Sophie: Of course! It’s nowhere to be found. I think I must have left it on the train.
Jake: That’s terrible. Did you call the train company?
Sophie: They said they hadn’t found anything but told me to try again later in the day to make sure.
Jake: Don’t worry, Sophie, we’ll help you find it. Is there any cash or important papers in your wallet?
Sophie: No cash, luckily, but my ID cards and credit card were in there.
Jake: Those are not easy to replace. But let’s be optimistic here – maybe someone found your wallet and turned it in at the lost and found.
Sophie: Yeah, that’s possible too. I hope whoever finds it is honest enough to return it.
Jake: Don’t worry, Sophie. If we don’t hear from them soon, we could cancel the cards and apply for new IDs. At least you saved yourself from getting robbed.
Sophie: Thanks, Jake. You’re right. I feel so relieved having you by my side.
Jake: That’s what friends are for. And if we find your wallet, don’t forget to thank whoever found it properly.
Dialogue 2
Samantha: Excuse me, sir. Did you drop your wallet?
Tom: Huh? Oh my goodness, thank you so much! That’s my life in there!
Samantha: No problem; I’m glad I could help. You looked like you were in a rush and didn’t even notice it fall out of your pocket.
Tom: Yeah, I was going to meet some friends for lunch. This would have ruined everything if I hadn’t found it.
Samantha: Well, I’m relieved we caught it in time. It looks like all your cards and money are still here.
Tom: Thank goodness. I appreciate this. How can I repay you?
Samantha: No need, honestly. Pay it forward and be more careful with your belongings from now on.
Tom: Absolutely. Let me at least buy you a coffee or something as a small token of gratitude.
Samantha: That’s very kind of you, but it’s unnecessary. I’m just happy we avoided a crisis today.
Tom: Please, don’t take no for an answer. Here, let me give you my number. If you change your mind, give me a call, and I’ll treat you to whatever you want.
Samantha: Alright, Tom. I appreciate your generosity. And congratulations on finding your lost wallet.
