Topic: Birthday Party
Dialogue 1
Sophie: Hi, Sarah! How’s it going?
Sarah: Hey, Sophie! I’m good. I am just preparing for my birthday party tomorrow!
Sophie: Oh yay, I can’t wait! Have you got everything ready?
Sarah: I’ve already baked the cake with my mum and wrapped some presents.
Sophie: Great! Are all of your friends coming then?
Sarah: Everyone on the list confirmed they’re coming except Tom. He said he couldn’t make it because he’s got to visit his family up north.
Sophie: Aww, that’s a shame. But at least everyone else will be there. Did you give them their invitations already?
Sarah: No, I haven’t had time to do that yet. I still need to send a few messages out.
Sophie: OK. And what about decorations? Do you have any balloons?
Sarah: Not yet, but my older sister is getting them later today – she promised not to forget this year.
Sophie: last year, we blew up all the balloons ourselves. It was so hard!
Sarah: Yeah, no way am I doing that again. So are you excited for tomorrow’s party?
Sophie: Of course! Birthdays are always great fun, especially with good friends around. What time should I come over?
Sarah: Come round whenever it starts at 6 pm, but people might arrive earlier or later.
Sophie: Sounds perfect. I can’t wait to see you and celebrate!
Sarah: Same here!
Dialogue 2
Sophie: Oh my god, the cake looks fantastic, Aaron. Did you make it yourself?
Aaron: Yeah, I did. It took a while, but I’m happy with how it turned out.
Sophie: You’re so talented! Everyone’s going to love it.
Aaron: Speaking of everyone, have you heard back from all of our friends?
Sophie: Pretty much, yeah. Most people are coming, except for Emily and Mark. They’re away on holiday right now.
Aaron: Shame. But at least we’ll have plenty of others here, including family members. Speaking of which, where are your parents?
Sophie: They went to pick up the presents – they got me something really special this year!
Aaron: Can’t wait to see what it is. And do we still need to set up anything else before people arrive?
Sophie: Nope, everything’s ready to go. Just waiting for the first guests to arrive.
Aaron: Okay, great. This is going to be an awesome party. Thanks again for helping me organize everything, Sophie.
Sophie: No problem. Happy 25th birthday!
